About this game

Water Sort gives you a row of tubes filled with layers of coloured liquid, all jumbled together. Pour from one tube into another and the top layer moves across, but only onto a matching colour or into empty space. Sort every tube so it holds a single colour and the level is solved.

It looks like a game you can play on autopilot, and that is exactly the trap. Empty space is a finite resource, and a few careless pours can lock the whole board with no legal move left. The satisfying part is spotting the order of operations that unpicks the tangle without ever painting yourself into a corner.

Tips & strategy

Guard your empty tubes fiercely. An empty tube is the only place any colour can go, so it is the most valuable thing on the board. Filling one with a random colour just because you can is how levels become unsolvable.

Look for pours that free a whole layer, not just one unit. Moving three matching units at once does far more to open the board than shuffling single units around, and it usually reveals a new colour underneath that unlocks the next move.

Plan two or three pours ahead before you touch anything. Because a pour cannot be undone in the same way, the order matters enormously. Trace the sequence mentally: if this colour goes here, what does that free, and where does the next one go?

When you are stuck, look for a tube that is nearly complete. Finishing a tube removes it from the puzzle entirely and often frees the space you need. Working toward completions rather than tidying everything at once keeps the board shrinking.

Questions

What are the pouring rules?

You can pour a colour only onto the same colour, or into an empty tube. That constraint is the whole puzzle.

Can I get stuck?

Yes. If no legal pour remains you have to restart the level, which is why protecting empty space matters so much.

How do I finish a level?

Every tube must hold only one colour, or be empty.

Is there a time limit?

No. It is a calm, think-as-long-as-you-like puzzle.

Do I need to download anything?

Nothing at all. The whole of Water Sort is built into the page itself, which is why there is no loading bar and no waiting before you can play.
