Flow Connect gives you a grid dotted with coloured pairs. Draw a path joining each pair, without crossing any other path, and fill every single cell on the board. That last requirement is what turns an easy-looking task into a real puzzle: connecting the dots is simple, doing it while leaving no empty squares is not.
The trick most players miss at first is that the two goals are the same goal. If you take the shortest route between every pair, you will always be left with gaps. The solution requires deliberately taking the long way around with some colours so their paths fill the space others cannot reach.
Start with the corners and edges. Corner cells can only be reached from two directions, so the path that fills them is heavily constrained and often forced. Solving the constrained parts first tells you a lot about the middle.
Do not take the shortest route. Direct paths look tidy and almost always leave unreachable gaps elsewhere. If a colour can loop around and fill some awkward cells on the way, that is usually the intended solution.
Look for cells with only one possible neighbour. Any cell that can only be entered from a single direction must be part of that specific path, which pins down a whole section of the answer without guessing.
Undo freely. Dragging back along a path shortens it at no cost, so experimenting is cheap. Puzzles like this reward trying an idea and abandoning it far more than careful theorising.
