Keep your hand still and move only your fingers. Large movements are slower, so resting your hand near the screen and using small quick taps produces a noticeably higher rate.
Do not start early. Tapping before the round begins does nothing and often means you are already tiring when the rope actually starts moving.
Play best of three. Individual rounds are short and a single result can come down to who happened to be ready, so a short series is a fairer contest and more fun.
