The click speed test measures how many times you can click in a fixed window, then divides it out into clicks per second. It is the crudest test on the site and weirdly compelling, because the number it gives you is so easy to compare and so tempting to beat.
Most people manage around six clicks a second. Anything above eight usually means a specific technique rather than raw speed, and the various methods players use to push past ten have names and followings of their own. It is a small window into how far people will optimise a completely trivial task.
Use two fingers alternating rather than one finger hammering. Alternating halves the distance each finger has to travel and is the single easiest way to push your rate up by a couple of clicks per second.
Rest your hand rather than holding it up. A supported wrist lets your fingers move independently, whereas an unsupported arm tires within seconds and your rate collapses before the timer ends.
Keep the movement small. Long presses waste time on travel, so the fastest clicking is barely visible movement concentrated at the fingertips.
Warm up first. Your first attempt is almost always your slowest, and most people gain a full click per second after a few tries simply from being loosened up.
Around six is typical. Above eight usually means a deliberate technique rather than natural speed.
A fixed window, so everyone is measured over the same amount of time.
Yes, tapping counts exactly like clicking.
Warming up genuinely matters. Most people improve noticeably after two or three tries.
No. Click Speed Test runs entirely inside this page, so it starts the moment the page opens. There is nothing to download, no plugin, and no account to create.
