Ski Slalom sends you down a mountain dotted with gates. Pass between the poles of each one, and keep doing it as the slope steepens and the gates come faster. Miss too many and the run is over.
Slalom is genuinely about rhythm rather than reaction. The gates alternate in a pattern, so a skier who settles into the swing carries speed through them all, while one who reacts to each gate individually arrives late at every single one.
Turn before the gate, not at it. Starting the carve early lets you pass through cleanly and already be heading toward the next one, whereas turning level with the poles means arriving at the following gate out of position.
Find the rhythm of the alternation. Gates usually swing left, right, left, and skiing to that beat is far more reliable than reacting to each one as it appears.
Do not overcorrect after a miss. Missing one gate costs little; the panicked correction that misses the next two costs the run.
Keep your line tight. Swinging wide between gates wastes the distance you have to cover and leaves you late, so passing close to the poles keeps the descent efficient.
It counts against you, and missing too many ends the run.
Yes, the speed rises and the gates come more frequently.
No, it is a distance game down an endless mountain.

No. Ski Slalom runs entirely inside this page, so it starts the moment the page opens. There is nothing to download, no plugin, and no account to create.
