About this game

Head Soccer is football reduced to its silliest and most playable form: two big-headed players, one ball, and a pitch barely wider than the goals. Jump, lean into the ball, and try to send it past your opponent before the clock runs down. Matches last a couple of minutes and are usually decided by one lucky bounce.

The comedy hides a real game. Because heading is the only way to strike the ball, the contest is about timing your jump so the ball comes off the top of your head at the right angle. Get underneath it and it goes straight up; catch it on the side and it flies. That single mechanic gives every rally its shape.

Tips & strategy

Time your jump so the ball meets the side of your head, not the top. A ball struck squarely from below goes almost straight up and hands possession back, while a glancing contact sends it forward with pace.

Do not jump at everything. A player in the air cannot change direction, so a mistimed leap leaves your goal open for the rebound. Stay grounded and let the ball come to you unless you are confident.

Defend from just in front of your goal, not on your goal line. Standing slightly forward lets you head the ball away before it arrives, whereas hugging the line means everything reaches you at full speed.

Use the walls. The ball bounces off the sides and the ceiling, so a header aimed high can come down behind your opponent in a way a flat shot never would.

Questions

How do I score?

By heading the ball into your opponent's goal. There is no kicking, only headers.

How long is a match?

Each match is timed, and the score when the clock reaches zero decides the winner.

Can two people play?

Yes, sharing one device with separate controls for each player.

Why does the ball go straight up?

Because you headed it from directly underneath. Meeting it at an angle sends it forward instead.

Do I have to sign up to play?

No sign-up, no email, no account. Open the page and Head Soccer is ready to play straight away, on a phone or a desktop.
