About this game

Blob Eater drops you into a field of drifting blobs. Anything smaller than you can be absorbed and makes you bigger; anything larger will do the same to you. Drag to move and pick your targets carefully.

The rule that makes it more than a chase is that size costs speed. A tiny blob is nimble and vulnerable, a huge one is safe from almost everything and too slow to catch anything. That trade-off is why this genre has been copied endlessly since agar.io.

Tips & strategy

Eat early while you are quick. Your speed advantage is greatest at the start, so the first twenty seconds are when the easy growth happens.

Watch the grey blobs. Anything shown grey is bigger than you, and the colour changes as you grow, so a threat becomes a meal without you having to compare sizes yourself.

Corner your targets. Blobs bounce off the walls, so approaching one that is heading into an edge gives you a far better chance than chasing across open ground.

Know when to stop hunting. Once you are large, the risk of blundering into something bigger outweighs the small growth from another absorption, so patience beats greed.

Questions

How do I grow?

By absorbing blobs smaller than yourself.

Why am I getting slower?

Size costs speed, deliberately. A large blob is powerful and clumsy.

How do I know what is dangerous?

Anything shown grey is bigger than you. Coloured blobs are safe to eat.

What ends the run?

Touching a blob larger than you.

Is there anything to install?

Nothing at all. The whole of Blob Eater is built into the page itself, which is why there is no loading bar and no waiting before you can play.
