Rope Cut hangs a sweet from several ropes above a hungry frog. Cut a rope and the sweet swings; cut them in the right order and the swing carries it into the mouth. Cut them all at once and it simply drops.
What makes it a puzzle rather than a reflex test is that the order and the timing both matter. Releasing a rope at the top of a swing sends the sweet in a completely different direction from releasing it at the bottom, so the same set of cuts can succeed or fail depending on when you make them.
Cut at the extremes of the swing. A rope released when the sweet is at the far end of its arc sends it travelling fastest in that direction, which is how you reach a distant target.
Leave one rope until last. Keeping a single rope attached lets you steer the swing, whereas cutting the second-to-last too early leaves the sweet in freefall.
Watch the arc before cutting anything. The sweet settles into a predictable swing after a moment, and reading it is far more useful than cutting immediately.
Aim slightly before the target. The sweet keeps travelling after release, so cutting exactly when it is above the frog usually overshoots.
The sweet falling off the bottom of the screen.
Very much. Each rope changes the swing differently depending on when it goes.
Yes, later levels add more ropes and move the target.
Yes, tapping a rope cuts it.
