About this game

Ice Slide looks like a simple maze until you make your first move. Push the ball in any direction and it does not stop where you want it to; it slides all the way until something blocks it. Getting to the target means using the walls and obstacles as brakes.

That single rule change turns a trivial maze into a genuine puzzle. You cannot steer mid-slide, so every move is a commitment, and reaching a specific square often requires approaching it from a completely counterintuitive direction. Plotting the route backward from the goal is usually easier than working forward.

Tips & strategy

Work backward from the target. Ask which square the ball must slide from to stop on the goal, then which square gets you there. Reasoning forward usually sends you skidding past the target repeatedly.

Treat obstacles as tools, not hazards. Every block on the ice is a brake, and the route almost always involves deliberately sliding into one to stop where you need to be.

Remember you cannot stop halfway. Beginners plan routes as though the ball travels one square at a time, which never works. Each move is a full slide to the next obstruction.

Restart freely. The move counter rewards efficiency, and once you can see the route, replaying it cleanly scores far better than stumbling to the goal.

Questions

Why does the ball not stop?

It is on ice. It slides until it hits a wall or an obstacle, which is the central rule of the puzzle.

Can I change direction mid-slide?

No. Each move is committed until the ball comes to rest.

How is my score measured?

By the number of moves used, so an efficient route matters.

What if I get stuck?

Restart the level. Some positions genuinely have no route out.

Is it really free?

Nothing at all. The whole of Ice Slide is built into the page itself, which is why there is no loading bar and no waiting before you can play.
