Domino Chain is about the moment everyone actually wants: setting a long run of dominoes and tipping the first one. Place your tiles across the board, then tap the first and watch the wave travel. If every domino falls, the run is a success.
The catch is spacing, and it is a real physical constraint rather than an arbitrary rule. Place two dominoes too far apart and the falling one simply will not reach the next. Too close and you waste tiles. Finding the spacing that carries the chain reliably is the entire puzzle.
Keep the spacing even. A single oversized gap breaks the chain no matter how perfect the rest of it is, so consistency matters more than getting any individual gap ideal.
Space them slightly closer than you think you need. The margin for a domino falling short is unforgiving, and a little extra overlap costs almost nothing while insuring the whole run.
Build in a smooth line. Sharp changes of direction are where chains break, because a domino falling at an angle transfers less force to the next one. Gentle curves carry far better than corners.
Test with a short run first. Getting a feel for the spacing on five dominoes before committing to fifty saves a great deal of frustration.
Two dominoes were spaced too far apart, so the falling one never reached the next.
Place your dominoes first, then tap the first one in the line.
You place as many as you like before tipping, so long runs are entirely possible.
Every domino you placed falling in a single chain.
