Stone Stack swings a block back and forth above your tower and asks you to drop it. Land it neatly on the one below and the tower grows; overhang the edge and the excess is sliced away, leaving you a narrower platform for the next one.
That trimming rule is what turns a simple timing game into a slow squeeze. Every imperfect drop makes the next one harder, so a tower is really a record of your accumulated small errors. The players who go highest are not lucky, they are consistent.
Release slightly before the block looks aligned. There is a small delay between your tap and the drop, and accounting for it is the difference between a clean stack and a shaved edge.
Watch the block, not the tower. The tower is stationary; the block is what you are timing. Fixing your attention on the moving object gives you a much better sense of its rhythm.
Accept a small overhang rather than forcing a perfect drop. Waiting for the flawless moment often means missing the window entirely, and a slightly trimmed block still leaves you a workable platform.
Settle into the swing. The block moves at a predictable pace, so tapping on the beat is far more reliable than reacting visually each time.
The part hanging over the edge is cut off, so your platform gets narrower for the next block.
By how tall the tower gets before you miss entirely.
The blocks swing faster as the tower rises, which is what eventually catches everyone.

Nothing at all. The whole of Stone Stack is built into the page itself, which is why there is no loading bar and no waiting before you can play.
