About this game

Astronaut is a one-button drifter set in space. Hold to rise, release to fall, and weave between the asteroids coming toward you while gathering stars along the way. Simple to control and unforgiving to fly.

Because your only input is vertical, everything depends on reading the gaps early. The asteroids arrive at a fixed rate and there is no braking, so you are always positioning for a gap that is still several moments away rather than reacting to the one in front of you.

Tips & strategy

Fly with short taps rather than long holds. Steady flight comes from a flutter of brief presses, while big holds send you climbing into whatever is above.

Aim for the middle of gaps. Skimming an edge leaves no margin, and drifting slightly is inevitable when your only control is up and down.

Take the stars that sit in your line. Diverting vertically to grab one usually puts you out of position for the next asteroid, and the score is not worth the crash.

Look ahead, not at yourself. The gaps are visible well before they arrive, and adjusting early is far smoother than a late correction.

Questions

What is the only control?

One button. Holding makes you rise and releasing makes you fall.

What are the stars for?

They add to your score alongside the distance you travel.

Is there an ending?

No, it is an endless flyer. You are beating your own best distance.

Why do I keep hitting the top?

Usually from holding too long. Short taps keep you level.

Is there anything to install?

Completely free, with no trial and no unlock. Astronaut loads with the page and plays immediately, without an install step or a video ad first.
