Rhythm Tap scrolls notes toward a line and asks you to hit each one as it arrives. Land it exactly and you score a perfect; land it close and you still score, but less. Miss and the combo breaks.
Rhythm games work because they train something measurable. Your first attempt is scrappy, and within a few rounds you are anticipating the beat rather than reacting to it, which is a genuinely different mental mode and the reason the genre is so absorbing.
Listen to the rhythm rather than watching the notes. Once you feel the beat you can hit notes almost without looking, and that is where perfect scores come from.
Do not press early to be safe. An early press counts as a miss and breaks the combo, so waiting for the note to reach the line is always correct.
Recover the beat immediately after a miss. The single biggest cause of a collapsed run is chasing the note you missed instead of getting back on the rhythm for the next one.
Relax your hands. Tension makes timing worse, and players who stiffen up after a few misses do noticeably worse than those who stay loose.
How close your press was to the line. Perfect timing scores more.
A miss, or a press that lands too far from the line.
Yes, tapping works exactly like pressing a key.
By listening to the rhythm rather than watching the notes, so you anticipate rather than react.
