Color Match is the match-three puzzle in its classic form. Swap two neighbouring tiles, and if the swap lines up three or more of the same colour they clear and everything above drops down. Swaps that make no match are not allowed, so every move has to accomplish something.
The move limit is what makes it a puzzle rather than an idle game. With unlimited swaps anyone can clear a board eventually; with a fixed budget you have to find the moves that cascade, where clearing one group drops tiles into a new match without spending another move.
Play the bottom of the board first. Clearing low tiles makes everything above drop, which reshuffles far more of the board than a match at the top and often triggers cascades for free.
Look for moves that set up cascades rather than the biggest immediate match. A four-tile clear that drops nothing useful is often worth less than a three-tile clear that starts a chain reaction.
Scan for tiles that are one move from a match. Two of a colour with a third sitting just off the line is the shape you are hunting for, and training your eye to spot those is most of the skill.
Do not spend moves tidying. With a fixed budget, every swap that does not clear a decent group or cause a cascade is a wasted opportunity.
Only neighbouring ones, and only if the swap creates a match of three or more.
When tiles falling to fill a cleared space happen to form a new match, clearing again without costing you a move.
Yes, which is what makes move choice matter.
Larger groups and cascades score disproportionately well, so setting up chains beats clearing three at a time.
