Animal Homes shows you an animal and asks where it lives: in the water, in the forest, on the farm or up in the sky. Tap the right habitat and move on. It is a small, friendly quiz that happens to be a child's first lesson in how living things fit into the places around them.
The categories are deliberately broad, so a child does not need to know anything specific about any animal. A dolphin obviously belongs in water and a cow obviously belongs on a farm, and working that out from a picture is exactly the kind of everyday reasoning that early-years learning is built on.
Talk about why, not just what. When a child taps the right answer, asking how they knew turns a lucky guess into actual understanding, and it is where most of the learning in a game like this happens.
Use the wrong answers as the interesting part. Getting one wrong is a chance to talk about what the animal needs, like whether it can breathe underwater or whether it has wings, which is far more memorable than being right first time.
Look at the body for clues. Fins mean water, wings usually mean sky, and hooves usually mean farm. Pointing out those connections gives a child a rule they can apply to animals they have never seen before.
Play it in short bursts. Twelve or so questions is about right for a young attention span, and stopping while it is still fun makes them want to come back.
